Christened "The Emerald City", Seattle is known as one of the most livable cities in the world and actually receives less annual rainfall (36 inches) than New York and Atlanta. A scenic blend of mountains, evergreens, and flowered hillsides, the city is virtually surrounded by water with views of the Olympic and Cascade Mountains and the indomitable 14,410- foot Mt. Rainier. Ferries cross the Puget Sound to Bainbridge and Vashon Islands and beyond to the San Juan Islands. With all the lakes, rivers, Puget Sound, and mountains, Seattle is a recreation enthusiasts' dream. In the summer, water sports are only 10 minutes away and winter sports, such as snow skiing and snowboarding, are only 45 minutes away. Some of the many attractions and services that are nearby include downtown shopping, local bus service, restaurants, movie theaters, museums, the University of Washington, the Space Needle, Seattle Center, Pike Place Market, Washington State Ferries, Museum of Flight, Pacific Science Center, the Washington State Convention Center, Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners, Seattle Sounders, Century Link Field, Home of the Seattle Seahawks & Seattle Sounders, Safeco Field, Woodland Park Zoo, Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park, Seattle Aquarium and the Snoqualmie Falls. For adventures a little farther afield, our area offers river, sound and lake fishing, golfing, 2 zoos, Northwest Trek, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Rainer and the Cascade Loop. One of Seattle's most famous summer festivals, Seafair, is an extravagant three-week celebration in July and early August featuring hydroplane races on Lake Washington, a torchlight parade downtown, an air show, lots of music, a carnival and the arrival of the naval fleet. Whatever you have planned to do here in The Emerald City, let us be your home away from home. We look forward to seeing you soon! Because two mountain ranges flank the city of Seattle, the climate is temperate year-round, and gardens thrive even in the mid-winter. Rain is usually a gentle mist that freshens the air and keeps the landscape naturally green and lush. Seattle's moderate climate combined with a contrasting geography of water and mountains encourage a wealth of year round outdoor activities. To the east, in the Cascade Mountains, you will find the White Pass Ski Resort located on Hwy. 12, The Summit at Snoqualmie located on I-90 and Stevens Pass located on Hwy. 2. If you are an outdoorsman then we have all kinds of hunting, fishing, rafting and horseback riding. Get more information and regulations about the wildlife in our area from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Region 4. Seattle is home to the Mariners, the Seahawks, Seattle Sounders FC and the Seattle Storm - women's basketball. If you would rather be golfing we can help. Some of the courses around the area are Jackson Park Golf Club, Jefferson Park Golf Club, West Seattle Golf Club, New Castle Golf Course and Willow Run. After your game how about taking the family to some of the great museums? You can start with the Seattle Art Museum, Burke Museum and the Seattle's Museum of History. A relaxing afternoon with the family can be spent at the Woodland Park Zoo or the Seattle Aquarium. For wonderful Pacific Northwest fare try the Maple Leaf Grill, Sky City at the Needle, Old Country Buffet, Black Angus, Ivar's Restaurants, Ray's Boat House and 13 Coins. Of course don't forget the movies at the Regal Galleria 11 and the Regal Crossroads * Cinemas. If your cup of tea contains live entertainment, gaming and great food all in one stop, then head for the Silver Dollar Casinos, Snoqualmie Casino, Chinook Winds Casino, and the Emerald Queen Casino and have a grand time! Just in case you need RV services we recommend Evergreen RV Service and Hi Line RV & Trailer Repairs, which are nearby. Our medical facilities in the area are the best and we have several major regional healthcare facilities! Harborview Medical Center is managed by the University of Washington, Swedish Medical Center, Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center, and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance are only a few of the excellent facilities available.
