Just three miles east of us. Our area golf course, St. James Bay Golf Resort, is open to the public and just 10 miles east. One of the most visited tourist destinations in the Tallahassee area is Wakulla Springs State Park. Guests can enjoy world-class wildlife viewing and amazing river boat tours. 44 miles northeast. Apalachicola National Forest is the largest forest in Florida! Filled with natural trails, streams, rivers and lakes, allowing for numerous recreational opportunities. This is a must-see for nature lovers. Apalachicola Bay is one of the most productive estuarine systems in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve protects this region’s biological diversity. This is a really interesting laboratory, located just 15 minutes away. About four miles west of us, Tate’s Hell State Forest is another botanically diverse attraction that’s a popular place for wildlife viewing, canoeing, boating and fishing. Fronting the “Forgotten Coast” of Carrabelle Beach, St. George Island is one of the least inhabited and unspoiled natural wonders of Florida. Full of great shops, restaurants and biking & jogging trails. St. Vincent Island, St. George’s next door neighbor, is an undeveloped barrier island with the main focus of preserving the variety of abounding plant and animal communities. Located a mere ¼ mile west of us, the Crooked River Lighthouse allows guests to climb this historic piece of art or simply browse through the Keeper’s House Museum and Gift Shop. Another charming lighthouse for guests to visit or climb is St. George Island Lighthouse, consisting of 92 stairs to the top of the light! Located 12 miles west and then four miles across the bridge to St George Island.
