The park was built and opened in 1987 with 50 sites, and then built on with 40 more sites completing the project in 2002. Each site has full hook-up along with wireless Internet. We are especially proud of the large site that accommodate 40-45 foot RV’s that have a cement patio.

Each year two Workamper Host Couples help you check in and escort you to your site. These friendly faces are the extra hands during busy days here within the park. The camp host will help with your questions, to help make your stay one you will really enjoy. 32Clear Lake is a unique resort area with much to see and do. The Clear Lake Chamber plans many events through out the summer that keeps bringing people back. Such events as the “Clear Lake Walleye Classic,” “Take Me Back Festival” our great Fourth of July Celebration, “Bicycle, Blues & BBQ Festival” the Antique/Class Wooden Boat Show, the “Lake DixieFest and the C.L.A.S.S Car Show to name just a few.

Among the many things to see and do is the Surf Ballroom and Museum. It is considered the premier attraction as it is know as the site of the last Buddy Holly concert in 1959. Today the Balllroom host a variety of concerts and musical acts, ranging form the rock and roll, to jazz, contry, the blues and tradidtioanl big Bands. Of course, many are curious about The Plane Crash Site where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, the Big Bopper and pilot were found. a stainless steel guitar and a set of three stainless steeel records marks the exact spot where the [land came down. As the memorial is located on proivate property we as vistors to respect the owners rights while visiting the site.
Clear Lake Art Center a non-profit center, its faclity promotes programing and enterainment throughout the year with art classes, workshops, special events and gallery exhibits. The Iowa Trolley Park gives visitors a chance to see pieces of railroad history. The old hand car and the trolley museum are open Saturday and Sunday from Memorial day to Labor Day from 10 to 4. A small fee to try the hand car or the speeder rides helps support this historical park.

Lady of the Lake is a true paddle boat that gets you the experience of the seeing the lake in a more relaxed manner. The public cruise in an enclosed lower level or open-air upper level with tables and chair give you and your friends a great experience on the lake. Central Gardens across the street from the new fire station is a remarkable garden within a garden. The 2.5 acre site has varied gardens with Victorian to wetland, butterfly, ornamental grass and shade. With the water features and new classroom pavilion it is an adventure to see and smell.

A replica of an old fire station house is the Clear Lake Fire Museum complete with antique fire truck. You can hop aboard the old 1924 Ahrens-Fox and ring the bell as you enjoy the highlighs of turn of the century firefighting ewuipment. The bell town holds the original fire bell used by the department.
