The Maverick Ranch RV Park has 101 sites; including 60 pull-through. In addition, 18 "Primitive Wilderness Campsites" are available for those interested in having a true tent camping experience. There are no hook-ups available in the eighteen tent sites, but a world of adventure awaits you and your party.
Guests of the Maverick Ranch RV Park can enjoy all of the resort amenities and activities; including the Agave Spa, Black Jack's Crossing Championship Golf Course, Horseback Trail Rides, Equestrian Activities, Lajitas Five Stand Skeet and Sport Clay Shooting, Cowboy Action, and much, much more. Directions to: Lajitas Golf Resort & Spa is located on Highway FM 170 (GPS: 29.25N 103.67W) between the Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park, along the Rio Grande.
Midland – Odessa to Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa
(approximately 245 miles)
Head West on Interstate 20 to Monahans, TX. Take the Highway 18 South exit toward Fort Stockton, TX and turn left onto 18 South for 6 miles. Turn right onto FM 1776 for 15 miles. Take a right on FM 1450 for 1/4 mile. Take a left on FM 1776 and continue south for 30 miles. Cross over Interstate 10 West. FM 1776 turns into US 67 South.
Follow US 67 South for 55 miles to Alpine, then turn left onto TX 118 South for 80 miles to the Study Butte/Terlingua Junction. Turn right onto FM 170 and continue for 17 miles to Lajitas.
Once in Lajitas, look for the state park information station (The Barton Warnock Center) to the left, and continue for approximately 1 mile until the Boardwalk comes into view. Turn left just past the boardwalk and park behind the hotel and follow signs to the Badlands Hotel for registration.
El Paso to Lajitas
(approximately 300 miles)
Take Interstate 10 East for 118 miles to Van Horn. Exit US 90 East to Marfa, then turn right onto US 90 and drive 78 miles to Marfa.
Continue on US 90/67 to Alpine and turn right onto TX 118 South (Cockrell Street). Follow TX 118 South for 80 miles to the Study Butte/Terlingua Junction, then turn right onto FM 170 and continue for 14 miles to Lajitas.
Once in Lajitas, look for the state park information center (The Barton Warnock Center) to the left, and continue for approximately 1 mile until the Boardwalk comes into view. Park behind the Boardwalk and follow signs to the Badlands Hotel for registration.

Big Bend
According to Native American legend, when the Great Creator made the Earth and finished placing the stars in the sky, the birds in the air, and the fish in the sea, a large pile of rejected stony materials remained. Finished with His job, He threw them into one heap and made the Big Bend.
Rugged mountain ranges, steep mesas, grasslands, and a vast expanse of desert encompass the Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park bordering the Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa.
One of the last untouched, unique landscapes in North America is the Big Bend; a majestic mountain range crowned with beautiful skies and cultivated by the Rio Grande River, its life-giving blood. The Big Bend is not an easy land to navigate, but greatly rewards those willing to explore it. Its location is set within the vast Chihuahuan Desert, extending from Central Mexico to Southern New Mexico, and includes 1,200 species of plants, 450 species of birds, 56 species of reptiles, and 75 species of mammals.
The Chisos Mountains are a stunning backdrop to the Big Bend with their jagged peaks and remarkable views. It is the only mountain range totally contained within a single national park, and offers breathtaking views for those atop their peaks. Numerous trails through the Chisos Mountains offer excellent opportunities for hiking and horseback riding.
The Rio Grande River is the dominant feature of Big Bend National Park, the course of which runs from the Gulf of Mexico. Its life sustaining waters nourish the flora and fauna native to the area, and serve as a means for recreation for guests to the area, such as rafting, fishing, and swimming.
