Parker, Arizona, on the western border of Arizona on the Colorado River and facing the Whipple Mountains of eastern California, was named after General Eli Parker. General Parker was a Seneca Indian chief who was highly educated in both law and civil engineering. During the Civil War, he became aid-de-camp to General Grant and wrote the terms to General Lee's surrender at Appomattox.
Parker is located 35 miles north of I-10 and about 40 miles south of Lake Havasu, and provides easy access to 16 beautiful miles of the Colorado River, known as the Parker Strip.
